e-ILS was launched in 2019 and uses the same core curriculum as ILS, which was launched in 2002 and is Resuscitation Council UK’s most attended course. ILS certification is recognised across the UK, the EU and Australia.
The ILS course is suitable for doctors, medical students, nurses, nursing students, midwives, paramedics and student paramedics, physiotherapists, dentistry professionals and other health and care professionals. It may also be suitable for fire service technicians, police personnel and prison officers.
This course will take place in our SMaRT academy, Office 1, Kingston Court, Walsall Road, Cannock, Staffordshire, WS11 0HQ. The course runs from 0800-1230hrs.
Full day and e-ILScourses are available.
The e-ILS course combines half a day of e-learning with half a day of face-to-face learning. Candidates are free to complete the e-learning in their own time before the face-to-face session. The face-to-face session focusses on skill stations and cardiac arrest simulations (CASTeach).
Candidates receive their ILS manual two weeks before the start of the course. They will also be given access to the e-ILS web app. Candidates are expected to have prepared for the course by reading the manual and completing modules on the e-ILS web app. There will also be a pre-course multiple-choice question (MCQ) paper to support Candidate learning.
Assessment is continuous throughout the course and is guided by the assessment forms provided for each core skill. You will receive copies of the assessment forms in an email prior to the course.
Successful Candidates receive a Resuscitation Council UK ILS provider certificate, which is valid for one year.
